WE ARE…
… the IT company of a European consulting firm (IMDM) based in Switzerland, driven by the challenges of the energy transition and the evolution of mobility. Active for over 10 years, we support major actors in civil infrastructure management (rail and road networks, energy distribution networks, water networks, etc.) in improving and consolidating their asset management practices. SWI2M is developing for IMDM an application for asset management, and we seek a software developer to join our dynamic team in Funchal, Madeira and to participate in developing and maintaining our web based application.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Collaborate with our team of developers to design, build, test, and deploy new features for our web-based application
• Contribute to the maintenance and enhancement of our existing codebase, resolving issues as they arise
• Stay up to date with emerging trends and technologies in web development, and share your knowledge with the team
• Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code in PHP, HTML, CSS and JS
• Maintain and update C code
• Analyse, prototype, develop, and maintain frontend components in JavaScript (jQuery)
• Demonstrate strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with an ability to work collaboratively in a team environment

REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or related field
• At least 2 years of experience in software development, with a focus on web-based applications
• Strong proficiency in PHP, HTML, CSS, JS and JQuery
• Solid frontend development skills
• Proficiency in PHP 8 to PHP 5, and the MVC design pattern
• Knowledge on one or more PHP frameworks (Symfony and/or Laravel)
• Familiarity with modern development best practices
• Understanding of database design and management (SQL and NoSQL)

APPRECIATED SKILLS

• Experience developing in C
• Experience with Linux and Docker environments
• Familiarity with quality and continuous integration tools
• Proficiency with Azure DevOps and Azure environment

• Excellent analytical and synthesis skills
• Ability to work both in a team and autonomously
