How do you imagine your next role? As international, interdisciplinary and innovative, with room for creativity? If so, then now is the perfect time to join our IT team in Porto.
We are on the path to expanding our data-driven capabilities. In collaboration with our main office in Traunreut, Germany, you’ll help shape a centralized data warehouse, establish self-service BI and play a role in many other exciting BI projects down the road. As our go-to authority for data governance, you’ll play a key role in our transformation projects.
 

Your mission

• Take responsibility for designing, implementing and continuously developing a data governance framework (e.g., DAMA, DCAM).
• Develop, implement and document data policies, standards and procedures for new data environments, as well as for data quality, including data catalogues, etc.
• Collaborate with our corporate BI data engineers, IT staff and technical departments to ensure that the demands of stakeholders, corporate compliance and the law are equally met.
• Moderate and coordinate our self-service BI community as a data governance subject-matter expert. Develop guidelines and standards for the secure and responsible use of data, and ensure that user requirements can be adequately implemented in the backend.
• Support our migration from QlikView to Tableau.
• Stay up-to-date on market trends and best practices in the data governance world.
   

Your strengths

• Degree in computer science or equivalent, with specialization and several years of experience in data and analytics solutions, as well as in data modelling and data management
• Project experience in designing and introducing data governance frameworks
• Experience in data engineering and data catalogue tools (e.g., DataHub)
• Experience in Python (or another relevant OOP language) and good knowledge of SQL
• Preferred experience in streaming platforms (e.g., Kafka), batch pipelines (e.g., Dataflow or Spark) and orchestration tools (e.g., Airflow)
