Aubay Portugal is a multinational French company, in Portugal since 2007. We have offices in Lisbon and Oporto and we are a specialized consultant in Management, Implementation, Development and Maintenance of Information Systems. We have more than 150 active partners and we operate in sectors such as banking, insurance, telecommunications, services, energy and transports.

What will you be doing?

• You will be responsible for ensuring that our client’s data infrastructure is running smoothly and efficiently;
• You will be responsible for responding to incidents, maintaining our infrastructure, optimizing databases for cost and speed, managing our infrastructure, and deploying new data flows;
• Incident Response: Understand user issues, reproduce them, perform root cause analysis, and resolve them; and communicate resolutions, write postmortems, and monitor systems for potential problems.
• Maintenance: Monitor systems to prevent issues and adjust configurations to maintain smooth operations;
• Database Optimization: Track processing costs and performance, address inefficient queries, and optimize database operations to reduce costs and improve speed;
• Infrastructure Management: Manage infrastructure using Terraform, implement best practices, and remove unnecessary resources;
• Deployments: Assist in deployment planning and reviews, support Data Engineers during deployments, ensure adherence to deployment processes, and monitor new systems post-deployment.

What are we looking for?

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or similar;
• 4+ years of experience in similar role with a strong background in cloud platforms, data orchestration, and database management;
• Hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform, Apache Airflow, and Google BigQuery, along with proficiency in infrastructure automation using Terraform;
• Google Cloud Platform (GCP): Demonstrate general knowledge of GCP services with a minimum of one year of practical experience;
• Apache Airflow: at least two years of experience working with the Apache Airflow orchestrator; experience with Google Composer is an added advantage;
• Google BigQuery: Leverage at least four years of extensive experience with Google BigQuery, including optimizing tables and queries. Capable of designing and implementing efficient database architectures;
• Apache Spark: Experience with pySpark is a plus as some of our pipelines utilize this technology (not mandatory, valued);
• Additional expertise: Kafka, Azure Analysis Services, and Google Cloud storage optimization;
• Written and verbal communication skills in English (B2 mandatory);
• Remote work model: the first day of work will be onsite - Leiria;
• Residency in Portugal – Citizenship or Work Visa/Residence Card (eliminatory factor).
