This job post serves for two different positions: SRE focused on Resilience and SRE focused on Observability. SRE focused on Resilience – What will you be doing? • Define, create, and implement standards; • Drive the implementation of resilient design; • Understand the consequences of a downstream service failure; • Analyze how our upstream response is managed and assess the impact on the customer experience; • Define, create, and implement fallback mechanisms/circuit breakers; • Evaluate the appropriateness of their implementation; • Develop logic for the circuit breakers, considering potential negative impacts based on past experiences; • Address end-to-end resilience on a customer journey; • Define, create, and implement end-to-end timeout settings, considering past instances of negative outcomes; • Engage in resolving complex operational issues end-to-end; • Identify root causes and propose architectural solutions or other improvements to prevent re-occurrence; • Collaborate closely with the architecture team and Tech Leads during the early stages of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC). SRE focused on Observability – What will you be doing? • Be an Observability Expert/Evangelist; • Create: SLOs, Metrics, Tech Debt, bugs; • Define standards and raise awareness; advocate best practices with the product team/squad; lead and enable the right outcomes for customers; • Understand how to define and implement Business metrics that represent Business & Customer outcomes; collaborate with the product team and implement them (in code and in the observability stack); • Embed into the Product Team/Squads (or subdomain); • Define, create, and implement standard metrics (frontend web, mobile app, microservices, strapi, infra & Apigee); • Define, create, and implement standard SLOs; • Collaborate with the SRE Platform team to automate the implementation of the above; • Define, create, identify, and implement business metrics for each MSA (working closely with squads and product/business owner); • Create backlog items for squads; • Define, create, identify, and implement SLO for each metric; • Provide training/support to the squad on how to create them in Dynatrace. What are we looking for? • Experience in mobile, web, integration or backend technologies; • Strong familiarity with Google Cloud and Apigee; • Experience with: Angular, Strapi CMS, Squid Proxy, PingFederate, Kotlin and Swift; • Availability to travel is important, the project requires trips to the UK (once every two months).
