Senior AWS Cloud Engineer - Focus Networking

As a Senior AWS Cloud Engineer – Focus Networking in our Tech Hub in Portugal, you will play a crucial role in our cloud journey. As part of the Cloud & Platform Engineering team, you will use your comprehensive AWS expertise to implement, and maintain robust cloud solutions. While you'll have a particular focus on networking, your responsibilities will span across various AWS services.

What you can expect in this role

• Continuously elevate, improve and implement new features for our AWS Platform to empower internal teams with efficient, secure, and scalable solutions.
• Develop and implement strategies to optimize the “AWS Landing Zone” for cost, usability, and security.
• Automate infrastructure provisioning and management using Infrastructure as Code principles and tools like Terraform and CloudFormation.
• Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines to ensure smooth and secure deployment of infrastructure changes.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest AWS networking services and features, and propose innovative solutions to improve our cloud infrastructure.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex networking issues in AWS environments.

Your essential experience and education

• Must-haves: 3+ years of AWS experience esp. hybrid networking, as well as a broad understanding of IT principles in general. 2+ years of writing maintainable code in Python for automation. Plus very good experience with Infrastructure as Code tools (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation)
• Nice-to-haves: Experience with CI/CD tools and methodologies. AWS certifications welcome (while they're a nice to have we're more interested in your actual experience and skills); Stakeholder Management experience to enhance alignments between teams
• A strong focus on user orientation, service availability, and cost efficiency as well as an independent, structured, and organized working style
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills and the ability to work effectively within a team
• Fluent in English (Portuguese and/ or German language proficiency is a plus)
