What will you be doing?

  • Develop and implement global sourcing strategies for assigned spend categories;
  • Contribute to and implement short- and long-term Make or Buy (MOB) strategies;
  • Establish and apply aligned procurement processes, sustainable supplier assessments (existing) and candidate development, and qualification of an efficient and compliant supplier base;
  • Proactively manage the suppliers to help improve the performance of the supply base in terms of quality, delivery, cost, and cash flow;
  • Act as a responsive business partner to the programs with responsibility for the assigned direct materials and early supplier integration in the development process;
  • Commodity Group management including supplier performance and risk management;
  • Define and manage the supplier portfolio for the assigned commodity groups;
  • Conduct annual price negotiations and conclude agreements and framework contracts;
  • Support project tenders with price estimates and early supplier involvement for the key components;
  • Coordinate with and provide functional leadership towards project lead buyers & project buyers within the commodity team;
  • Coordination and consolidation of global spending across all sites, lifting synergies for the assigned commodity groups;
  • Continuously optimize total cost of ownership (TCO) and drive savings initiatives;
  • Support selected Subcontracting activities and contracts;
  • Act and lead according to the Company's Values and Code of Conduct, and drive process development within the function;
  • Act as a change agent within own organization as well as towards main stakeholders;

  • Supporting Make-or-Buy decisions;
  • Early Procurement & Supplier integrated Product Development;
  • High Supplier Delivery Performance;
  • High Supplier Quality Performance;
  • PPV savings > 5%;
  • VAVE (Value Added Value Engineering) savings > 5% co-owned with Engineering;

 

What are we looking for?

  • Technical education on BSS or MSc level combined with economic know-how, e.g., studies in Business & Engineering, Supply Chain Management;
  • 5+ years of in-depth strategic and operational sourcing experience with a solid working knowledge of global supply base management as well as supplier development and quality;
  • Solid experience in Strategic Procurement in a project-based industry;
  • Demonstrated work experience in category management;
  • Global Sourcing Experience in the US, EU, and Asia as well as in Best Cost Country and spend relocation activities;
  • Strong analytical skills (risk-based) and focus on the essential facts;
  • Sensible and empathetic communication skills with internal and external stakeholders;
  • Deep understanding of the extended value stream flows on a global scale;
  • Willingness to travel internationally;
  • Hands-on team player;
  • Strong communication in English (B2 minimum), other languages are a plus (German, French, Swedish);
  • Remote working outside Portugal is not permitted.
