SRE

This role is a position within the APS organisation, which oversees the application and production support of the Cash Equities Execution platform. 

The team provides functional and technical support for front and back-end components running on Linux and Windows environments. The team also manages connectivity to the different electronic trading venues, brokers, vendors, and clients. 

Systems are complex, the range of technical skills involved is wide. All team members are expected to quickly develop a good understanding of electronic execution trading systems. 

Production systems are installed worldwide. New team members will be joining a global APS team with a follow-the-sun support model in place, involving teams in Europe, Asia, and North America.

Candidate profile:

• IT background (BSc, MSc degree in a related field)

• A few years of related work experience

• Preferably knowledge of financial markets and electronic trading

Essential skills: 

• Core Unix/Linux skills

• Knowledge of network technologies and protocols – specifically TCP and UDP

• Basic scripting skills (Unix/Linux shell, Python, Perl for scripting, any other programming language, e.g. C, C++, Java)

• Basic SQL knowledge.

Desirable skills:

• Log management: Splunk, ELK, Graylog, Loki

• Network monitoring: Corvil

• Databases: Oracle, PostgreSQL, MySQL/MariaDB, KDB/q 

• Messaging: Tibco, Solace, MQ, LBM, Kafka

• Observability and monitoring: ITRS GeneosDynatrace, Prometheus, Grafana
